Being a good human doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, it can be quite simple and relatable to humans of all ages. I’ve tried to narrow it down into 3 steps that, I think, anyone regardless of age or background can practice!
Step 1: Practice Kindness in Everyday Interactions
Kindness really is a universal language that any age or culture can understand. It’s as simple as a smile, offering a helping hand and using polite words such as please and thank you! Remember even the smallest act of kindness can make the biggest difference in someone’s life!
Step 2: Show Empathy and Understanding
Empathy allows us to connect with others and builds strong relationships. While understanding and sharing feelings and experiences helps us relate to each other. Try to show support and comfort to those going through difficult times! Try to avoid hurtful and unkind comments!
Step 3: Practice Gratitude and Appreciation
Gratitude is a powerful practice that can bring joy and a positive mindset to our lives! It helps us to focus on the good and appreciate what we have. I love to journal and write down things that I am grateful for each day! Take a moment to pause and reflect on your blessings and the friends and family in your life! When challenges or setbacks come your way, find them as a way to learn and move forward. I think when you stop and reflect on what you are grateful for it really does have a ripple effect for positivity and happiness!
Finally, being a good human really is within everyone’s reach! If we all do our best to show gratitude, understanding and kindness we will make a meaningful change in our lives and the lives of others! Remember, the journey of being a good human is ongoing and it’s one small step at a time!
