Today we celebrate our Dad’s! We celebrate the man who was our first teacher, best friend and supporter! We also pause and lovingly remember our Dads who are no longer with us!
My Dad was a sentimental kind of Dad! He gave thoughtful gifts and wrote kind notes! He was a world traveler and avid reader! Before he passed away he told my husband to never forget my Birthday and to always send me flowers!
My husband Joe was an outdoor kind of Dad! His favorite season was Summer and loved every minute of it! Being outside with his kids fishing, gardening, baseball, soccer and bike riding made him so happy! Added note – he always remebered my birthday and sent me flowers! LOL!
I wonder what these two men would think of the world in which we are living in today! What words of wisdom would they have for us? Would they have packed up and moved to a cabin in the woods, self-isolated and just fished or read for days? A definite YES to both!
Today let’s give thanks for our Dad’s! Give thanks to the Step Dad’s, Uncles, Grandfathers, Father-In-Laws and all of the Great Men in our lives! We are blessed to have them in our lives! Happy Father’s Day!
A Father is neither an anchor to hold us back, nor a sail to take us there, but a guiding light whose love shows us the way –
