Happy Father’s Day to all of the Dads Today! Father’s Day is a day we thank our Dad’s, Step Dad’s, Grandpa's,
Father figures, Uncles and all of the men who love their families!
Father’s Day became a holiday after Mother’s Day became an official holiday in 1908. In 1910 a woman by the name of Sonora Smart Dodd, one of six children being raised by a widower, tried to create a day like Mother’s Day for Fathers! After much persuasion the state of Washington celebrated its 1st Father’s Day on June 19, 1910. Finally, in 1924, President Calvin Coolidge urged the USA to officially celebrate Father’s Day! The day is now officially celebrated on the third Sunday in June every year!
Today is a day when we can pause and take the opportunity to honor and appreciate our Dad’s and all that they do for their children, families and society! Fathers are our first role model. They help shape our character, values and behaviors as young children. Fathers become our mentors, moral guide and teacher of life skills!
For me personally, this past year I have had the honor of watching my sons become Fathers! I am in awe of what amazing Dads they are becoming! They are all in from changing diapers, having sleepless nights and learning how to guide/parent emerging teenagers! I am so proud them! Most importantly their children are so blessed to be able to call them Dad!
Whether your Father is with you or not, I hope you celebrate your Father today! Today is a special day to say Thank You and let your Father know how much you love and appreciate him!
Dad’s everywhere may be getting ties and tools for Father’s Day! Don’t forget Suzy’s Swirl is the best place to bring your Dad on Father’s Day! All day today Dad’s will get a FREE mini cup with unlimited toppings!
A Dad is someone who wants to catch you when you fall. Instead he picks you up, brushes you off and lets you try again
