Merriam-Webster Dictionary says the definition of Kindness is, the quality or state of being kind; treating people with kindness and respect. Also, it means, a kind deed or favor; they did me a great kindness.
After the current tragedies in Texas and Ohio, someone on the crazy news said, we should be focusing on all of the acts of kindness that happened in lieu of these tragedies. The random strangers who brought water and food to the meeting areas! The nurse who started CPR and the other strangers who drove the wounded to the hospital! All acts of kindness!
One of my favorite movies is Evan Almighty! It stars Steve Carell and Morgan Freeman. It’s a great movie about trust, faith and one small Act of Random Kindness (ARK)! If you haven’t watched it, I highly recommend it! Can you imagine our world, our neighborhood, our family if we had more trust, faith and created small acts of random kindness!
I don’t think there is one specific answer or solution to the craziness that is happening in our world. I do know that if we had more Kindness in our world it definitely would be a better world! I challenge you to do one kind thing a day or one kind thing a week! Kindness is so simple; it needs to start now!
Be the reason someone smiles. Be the reason someone feels loved and believes in the goodness in people!
